CANDIDATES
We’ll help you find your next stewardess role with our
candidate-first approach to yacht crew recruitment.

Looking for yacht stewardess jobs? At Bespoke Crew, we specialise in placing interior crew on private and charter yachts around the world, from your first season on board to senior Chief Stewardess positions. Below you’ll find our current yacht stewardess vacancies, along with everything you need to know about salary, qualifications and career progression in this role.

A yacht stewardess (or steward, if you’re a man doing the same job) looks after the interior of the yacht and the guests on board. Day to day, that means keeping cabins, bathrooms and guest areas spotless, serving meals and drinks, doing the laundry and making sure every detail, from turned-down beds to table settings, is exactly right.
On larger yachts, stewardesses often specialise. You might focus purely on housekeeping, or take on service and silver service duties, or bring an extra skill to the table like massage, hairdressing or yoga instruction. Whatever the focus, the best stewardesses share the same qualities: a genuinely service-minded attitude, an eye for detail, and the stamina for long days spent on your feet.
With experience, stewardesses progress to 2nd Stewardess, then Chief Stewardess or Head of Interior, taking on team leadership alongside guest service.
Most stewardesses live aboard with food and accommodation provided, so salary is largely disposable income. On charter yachts, tips add significantly to total earnings, on top of the base salary we’ve listed here.

To start work as a yacht stewardess, you’ll typically need:
Helpful extras that make you more employable include Silver Service training, a background in land-based hospitality (hotels, fine dining, or a chalet season), and any specialist skill such as massage or hairdressing. You don’t need a university degree, but Hotel and Tourism graduates are always welcome in the industry.
These certifications sit alongside the wider employment protections every crew member is entitled to — see our guide to Crew Employment Rights & Contracts Under MLC 2006.

A typical stewardess career path looks like this:
Junior/3rd Stewardess → Stewardess → 2nd Stewardess → Chief Stewardess / Head of Interior → Purser
Progression usually takes three to five years and depends on building experience across different yacht sizes, taking on more responsibility, and continuing to develop your service and leadership skills.
